Swallowing Program
This program promotes swallowing through VitalStim therapy.
The Swallowing Program Therapy is an FDA approved method to promote swallowing through the application of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES).
The goals of this program are to strengthen and re-educate the muscles in the throat and improve motor control of the swallowing mechanism.
This program is helpful for individuals diagnosed with Dysphagia. Research shows this method has a greater success in regaining functional swallowing opposed to traditional methods of exercise and diet modification alone.
